Simon who got the 15lb cod actually has it on his phone which he said he was going to post up he actully phoned me last night and said when his mate was takeing the photo he was actually videoing rather than takeing a snap he pressed the wrong button a bit strange but there you are he has been on holiday in whitby all week and will be home on saturday he said he will post the video up on the whitby forum when he does i will put a link on to it its only very short but the fish should look good it was a really nice speciman.

Hi Barry,

 

We are getting the boat COP 60 surveyed on Monday next week. We cannot take parties for insurance purposes until she has passed this code. After that we will be running off to some distant wrecks with a few friends and hopefully catch a few fish. The water looks unusually clear for this time of year and I am reasonably confident we can catch a few. We will start taking parties from the 14th April.

I just phoned Mike about having a run off later next week, but he reckons there will only be 'scrap' until the wrecks at 70 miles and further off. Then I remember a photo he gave me of what he considers 'scrap' :huh:

Wouldn't class juvenile as scrap as they are the next lot of breeding stock. Fish stock or soup? Is there one thats worth a fillet?

Mike was a commercial rod fisherman of course and sold all he caught. Anything under about 6lb he considers scrap. To me that would be a nice fish :P
