Rod Repairs

Does anyone know where I can get a carbon fly rod repaired?

The rod is a Bruce and Walker ultralight 5 wt and the bottom section is snapped (clean break)

A new butt section as quoted by Bruce and Walker would cost more than I paid for the rod and I don't want to defraud the insurance company!!

I can find lots of sites for Pole repairs but no-one to take on a rod

Thanks

Dave, think you will struggle to get a butt section to match the rod characteristics or repaired as all they will do is fit an internal spiggot. Maybe you could make it in to a dustlight 3.5 WT to match your new Plueger reel!!!! :)

I've just bought the blanks to make the 3 wt rod to go with the pfleuger!!.

The Bruce and Walker is a nice rod though, and too good to chuck away. I could put up with a spigot, I don't think it would alter the rods characteristics much as it's just above the handle.

As you say being just above the handle you should get away with it, the action may just be a tad faster ( tighter loops ! ). Anywhere else I have found to be a waste of time turning a broken rod into a poor performer. Good luck.

Hope to give them a shot this weekend
