PM sent Dave

What's the killer flies for Haddo then !!

So i can go and get some, used to do all my own but a bit oh arthritis in the fingers put astop to that a few years ago, dosent stop me from fishing or tying on hooks but tying fiddly size 16 buzzers or the likes i cant do anymore alls the pity as i used to realy enjoy it,and with working offshore it gave me something to do of shift.

Infact that is how i started fly fishing in the first place, used to share a cabin with a salmon fisherman who used to tie all these wonderful creations,Got into it but prefered trout patterns.ended up with 100's ,used to give them all away until one day i thought No.and have enjoyed it ever since.

Hi Lenny

If I knew the killer fies I'd catch more :):)

Mike at Haddo has a good selection that will probably catch, but most of the patterns will do OK.

I prefer fishing on the top when possible so I like CDC emergers, shipmans buzzers and f. flys.

Black buzzers and PTNs do well on occasion and marabou tailed damsels and the like do well when the trout are down. It is not a deep loch and I only use a floating line, although an inetrmediate "slime" line might be useful on occasion.

I'll phone you and we will arrange a meet so you can explore the "joys" of float tubing.

I worked offshore and overseas for years until a back injury put me out of it and I find float tubing the most comfortable and relaxing style of fishing I have ever tried. I now float tube at Loch Muick and Loch Lochindorb for wild brownies, as well as haddo for the rainbows, but on the lookout for more locations.

Float tubing for Pike on the fly has to be experienced to be believed :D

Look forward to seeing you
