Julian At Top Pool

Elton

Recommended Posts

Those of you who read Julian's Top Pool Diaries will already have a good feel for the place.

The season starts on 1st June there and Julian's like a kid at Christmas just before! So, in the interests of angling journalism (LOL), he's taken a few days off to this week to fish.

Last I heard, he'd had two 20's out on worm. Way to go!!

Pics will no doubt follow when (if!) he returns.

Hi All,

Sorry there were no calls after yesterday afternoon; battery on the phone soon went dead after all the drama! As Rich says, managed to bag a minter late yesterday teatime at 26lb 12oz, and then took another common last night on the Shellfish B5.

Final tally was; 21lb 4oz, 25lb 4oz, 19lb 8oz, 26lb 12oz, and 11lb 4oz. Will cover all the details in the next carp journals piece, but as has been said already, four of the five were taken on worms and three of those four were stalked from the margins . Still getting my head around it at the moment but it was by far the best opening week I can remember for a good few years.

The Spoils…

DT at 21lb 4oz; finally took this cracking mirror at twenty plus after catching twice at 19lb 4oz and 19lb 6oz.

The Warrior; 25lb 4oz of fine estate lake mirror.

Red October at 19lb 8oz – taken about 18” from the bank

Worms Rule! Victor at 26lb 12oz.

Cheers guys. Just can’t wait to get back on!

I’ve only been back a night and I’m already itching!! As Chesh says, it’s closed this and next weekend, so I think a couple of midweek overnighters may be on the cards next week! :D

Need to take advantage of a clear lake before the dreaded Canadian Pond Weed takes hold again.
