Jealousy: totally irrational anger directed at people who happen to be richer, prettier, thinner, cleverer and more successful than you are.

The cheapest back leads are, a paper clip and a piece of toxic free plasticine (or play dough), to suit your needs.

I would not use the play dough as it may get taken by a stupid fish, then you may have a few problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a pack of nash backleads and all three were broken!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swapped them for a pack of Fox ones and have not had a problem.

Before that I used a quick link with a small arsley bomb.

I use back lead on my marker rod. The comments about back leads and avoiding spooking fish are spot on. For me however I back lead most often when in a confined swim, that way I can play and net a fish without tangling the other rods. Saves picking the other rodes up and sinking them whilst trying to play your fish.
