Sound's suss to me as well but on a syndicate water i fish a 32lb'er was caught on the stuff!

Not being there to see this for myself i remain sceptical. Anyone got any tail's or ideas?

In my mind i can see the cat going for one of the many many many silver fish and somehow hooking itself in the process!

Worst bit is i've been feeding the bugger up for two years and with my poor attendance rate(work)DIRTY WORD it's come out twice

Any ideas

Dont know if anyone's noticed but i like these Graemlin thing'ies :D:D

As you know Daz, there are a few of 'em in there, the biggest being a 30something (I wish I still was) or maybe it's caught up with me & is now a 40something???

I know the last time the big 'un was caught it was on maggot(or was it castor?).

It's weird that we tend to fish at least one rod with some sort of bait that will attract not only Carp but give us a chance of a Catty, but we always seem to lose out, catfish wise, to the matchmen. Don't you just hate it when that happens! :)

Just hope someone on here has a better idea on cat's than us..

I know that aint asking much :D:D:D

Just noticed ime talking to myself again as no one else is on line :) well at least i am going to right for once as its only meeeeeeeeee :D:D

I was fishing my lake last April, I had finished for the day and was retreaving my rig complete with glow in the dark plastic corn, when whammo! 23lb cat! It was dusk at the time and I can only presume as i was retrieving the corn was flashing and spinning as it come in acting like a lure.

Amazing yet bizzare

Two things to remember, firstly cats arnt always active predators. Some times they take on a very heavy "scavaging" mode. This normally happens because of food levels ie if there are thousands of boillies being put in they will switch on to these."hungry" waters like Claydon they will eat anything! Ive not seen one caught on corn I must admit but Ive seen them taken on everything else! In the right situation and there was lots going in it wouldnt suprise me though.

Another thing is that sweet corn is very high in Lysine (an amino acid which fish are very attracted to) a lot of species that are regarded as "predatory" will take corn due to this.Perch and eels being two good examples.

Didn't Paul (Tommy) Hillier catch a 50lb cat on corn at the Embassy Pairs Match held at Riba Roja on the Ebro a few years back?

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

My friend James had a cat on corn in France last summer.

He cast corn on a dynamite stick in and seconds later it was off.

Now clearly the greedy bugger had wolfed down the dynamite stick, corn and all but technically it was still a cat on corn !

I was down on Shatterford yonks ago, my mate went to reel in and the rod arched over. A Cat was firmly attached and hooked cleanly. The lucky sod never even knew he had a fish on.

It weighed 29.13 and was on a piece of plastic corn!!!!

Evening guy's

Firstly hope you all caught a lump this w/end,I did (pesky cout's) demon

Another thing is that sweet corn is very high in Lysine BUDGIE top thought can you get lysine as an additive? (sounds like jurassic park this bit) if so any ideas where ?

As for the corn grabbing yes i can see the flash of the corn attracting a preds attention on the retreval.

Any ideas though on the best approach for banking one of these SUPERSONIC TADPOLES :D

Cheer's lads

Dazler, most amino acids can be brought, normally in a powdered form.Dont know if they are still going but one firm I used to get them from when I was really into carp baits was-

Aldrich Chemical Company

The Old BrickYard

Gillingham

Dorset

SP8 4JL

As for catching cats intentionally my prefered method is livebait fished on a poly ball rig-
