Hello peeps!

Could you help me with following question, I'll be very grateful: Does anyone know what standards (BS/ISO/ECE etc) fishing equipment is made to? Or what guidelines are there for the design of fishing equipment? Can you boys suggest a company/fishing organisation that could give me these answers? ;op

I'd be very surprised if any of was built to any designated standards, other than those covering any commercial product on sale to the public ie no dangerous chemicals etc. I know the Angling Trades Association have recently brought out some standards for nets, but as I understand it they're entirely voluntary and have no legal standing.

makes me laugh on some large supermarket products the words to the effect "XXXXXXXX do not test their products on animals" is it because someone else does or is it their products use base ingrediants that were tested on bunnies eyes years ago ,i certainly hope they were tested on something

as for fishing stuff we all remember the nasty chemicals used to dye maggots ,is there a get out clause in that if its not for human consumption anything goes

as for design ,rods are just light sticks ,little has changed for thousands of years ,reels are just illingsworth design with the cogs enclosed ,all that has changed bar a few additions/improvements are the materials.

fishing equiptment is basicly unchanged only improved ,even the hook design is 3,000 years old
