Ewe Nuts

I just bought 25kg of Ewe Nuts from a farm store for £4.50, they are supposed to be a good alternative to pellets. Has anyone used them? If so how did you get on?

Have you opened them to see if they are all nuts?

 

I bought some last year but it was more of a meal, so I had to sieve out all the fines.

 

Apart from that they were OK.

I have been using ewe nuts for the past couple of years. They break down quite rapidly in water and soon leave a nice light mix on the bottom which I think attracts fish once one of them stirs it up a bit. I usually mix a bucket full of nuts and trout pellets together and after a time the nuts absorb a lot of the oil from the pellets and take on a very dark colour. This mix is either spodded out or used in a PVA bag. As the ewe nuts are so cheap it certainly cuts down on the expenses. I have certainly caught a lot of carp since I have started to use them and have a lot of confidence in them. Give them a go and good luck.

Cheers Guys! I used them on the weekwnd and had three good doubles in 12 hours fishing over them.
