Accurate reels

Yeah have three of them (197XC, B2-270 and B2-820). Imported them from a guy in the states at a pretty decent price when the exchange rate was very very good. They are superb reels, possibly overkill for some UK applications, but all the same super smooth gearing and drag (lever) and they are very powerfull. The 820 would be adequate for heavy duty congering and is of roughly similar dimensions to 7000 reel, although heavier in weight. The 270 is not much bigger than a 6000 abu and the 197 similar size to a 5000 reel. My fav is the 197. My understanding is that they do require a little looking after but again would have no hesitation in reccomending them.

if a reels any good you get a decent warranty ,a £5 reel has a year as well.

all those bearings into a graphite body is a waste of time the bearing itself would rotate because graphite isnt strong enough to have the bearing driven in tight enough ,fine on an metal body but it only says the spinning reels are made from the same materials as the other reels which i cannot see.

"probably" like certain watch sellers a poor item sold with a high price to catch the unwise ? my mum inlaw got a ballpoint pen once valued at £500 "value" is in the head of the valuer it doesnt have anything to do with "worth"

as for internally its stainless steel not a metal known for its ruggedness but some is "heat treated" yes it needs to be .the "twin" drag is not a new idea its been tried on many reels but front drag reels are never that good whatever they are made from ,perhaps quad drag is better or octo drag ,but is a smooth drag that important most users havnt a clue how to set them up anyway.

not saying i would climb over one to get an intrepid but for those prices i would have a good intrepid!

if the company backed their claims up with a anything goes lifetime warranty perhaps it would be worth a third of that but mitchell and abu used to but look where that gets you ,try sending in your 30 year old 410 for a breakage under warranty

The accurate Reels are made from solid aluminium, they are a piece of beauty, the handle actually rings if you flick it! Just wanted to know how they hold out in the briney. Am looking at a possible fishing trip to Norway and would like something that can handle a big un!
