Hi shevonne,

Where do you start!

There are just so many options and venues. The first thing I would say is what type of trip are you after ‘drive and survive’ – where you make your own way there, or perhaps ‘guided’ – where you can get picked up over here, and get looked after and put on the fish when you arrive (hopefully!).

You also need to look at the type of session you are after. Is it purely fishing 24-7, or do you want it to be a bit of a holiday as well, what I’m getting at is that there are some excellent venues in terms of fish weights and stocking densities, but there may not be much else to do besides fish.

On the other hand, you could go for a smaller lake with maybe smaller fish but great facilities, local sights of interest, etc.

Food for thought anyway.

You can get some free brochures on French carping at our http://www.fishingbrochures.com site

Other venues I’ve heard good things about are;

http://www.anglingsolutions.com/home.asp

http://www.chateaumoulin-peche.com/

If it’s more of a break, somewhere like Loire Fishing could be well worth a look.

I’m sure others will be able to recommend more venues. You'll find loads more french sites via the links section of the site.

Cheers…

Julian has really hit it on the head. You really need to decide exactly what you would like.Despite being a guide myself I would gladly give you information on various guiding companies and also any DIY info you would need.Ive done a little bit in France!!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

fished frog lake which is part of the abbey lakes complex but not run by them.

good set up with showers toilets etc club house food not good .

fishing dissapointing with only about 10 carp between 6 anglers biggest 27lb .they had a fish kill a couple of months ago and i think it was worse than they think.

that applies only to frog lake though not the abbey lakes.

cats up to 55lb were fun though 2 guys in a boat being towed around good to watch.

would go back but probably in may less chance of a fish kill maybe.

cheers big al
