We went into an eating house in Texas and ordered a meal. As we had a long drive in front of us we ordered water rather than wine or beer.

 

"Worrter" drawled the waitress "We don' keep it"

 

She looked Hispanic, so as we were in Texas I repeated the request in Spanish.

 

"Agua, por favor"

 

"Oh" she said, "you mean WADDAH"

 

Fortunately most places understand the Brit pronunciation of Budweiser

The most usual drink to accompany a meal in Texas is iced tea -

Tried it - Yuk - that and waffles are the two things I like least about Texas.

 

Liked the Cajun cooking tho'
