Strange but I like 'Back in the USSR' best?

Hav'nt a clue as to why - I like most of their stuff other than 'sub' and 'walrus'.

 

Now to show what a soft git I really am-

When I used to work away a lot and my daughter was small I used to sing 'All my loving' to her as she went to sleep knowing I would be away again for a week or so, the lyrics still cut me up.

'She's leaving home' is a masterpiece.

 

The lyrics, for once, get above the banal or downright meaningless.

 

They stand up to being read aloud without music. But the melody's pretty fine too.
