this weeken - the weather

I got blown around the Thames late last night. Wind kept changing direction too so I couldnt get settled anywhere.

I always take more than a passing interest in the weather, and can confidently say that the forecasters don't always get it right

 

I plan my trips according to the weather. ie lots of rain in the winter from the SW means the barbel gear gets dusted down. Cold, frosty and dry spells, out comes the chub tackle.

It was certainly blowing a hooly up on the broads last night. An incredible night it was too!

 

Most times I'm English through & through to my Heinze 57 roots. At other times I'm British &, unlike Yoxer, proud of it.

 

Last night was one of those 'British' nights, The Last Night of the Proms! I rarely fish with a radio on but last night was an exception, stiring music and stiring weather, lovely stuff, accompanied by a bottle of plonk.

 

And what weather! Did anyone else see that dead straight, narrow band of very high cloud that must have stretched for 100's of miles, South East to North West? Other than that no cloud whatsoever. And did anyone else see the Northern Lights? Incredible sight, although not very bright where I was. It lasted for no more than 20 minutes, glorious.

 

Nothing like fishing under the canopy of the stars on a rough old night! The surface of the water was continually breaking such was the force of the wind whistling straight down the river that I was on.

 

Lovely stuff, sod sitting in a bivvy with the telly on!
