Kids Fisheries?

Hi, Just stumbled across the boards today so hopefully someone can help me.

I've not long started fly fishing myself, just the past year or so but I have a 4 year old son who is keen to come along with me.

I'd like to get him started with some bait fishing but I know that if he doesn't catch anything reasonably quickly he'll get bored.

Does anyone out there know anywhere in the Lanarkshire, central belt area that has some sort of kids fishery?

I know Newmill in Lanark used to but as far as I know they no longer do that.

Any suggestions would be greatful.

Thanks

Craig

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

I think Craigy wants to introduce his boy to trout fishing, and is thinking of the practice in some fisheries of allowing bait fishing on a kiddies pool - very similar concept to fishing a carp puddle, though ;)

Are any of these any good?

Oh well then try fishing in a stock pool, or take him to a small river, teach him natural History first so he gets to know about the flies he will use and start him off on a foundation course. Dont rush him and let him take his time to become an angler

I'm lucky to go fishing everyday (when the FPO allows me)

Hi guys thanks for the suggestions.

Took the wee guy upto Carbeth, a bit pricey but quite family friendly and we managed to get a couple of fish as well so all round a pretty succesful day out.
