My favorite real reel at the mo. Two seasons use, proberbly pulled up more than forty or fifty double figure pollack, lost count, numerous codling, lost count, the odd cod. Two thirty plus ling, this year, two thirty plus conger in january this year, all on twenty pound braid. Cost 22 quid new on ebay. Photographed with me boat camera bought on ebay, twenty five quid.

When it's needs oiling or whatever you do with it, throw it over the side to add to the natural reefs and buy another one, priceless. :bleh::bleh::bleh:

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Yeah, might be cheap and good but with the handle on the wrong side it's about as much use as an @rse pocket in a vest :D

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Just to keep it in the correct thread.

I went wrecking yesterday but unfortunately all of the double figure pollack were on their holidays so, a full test of the Avet MXL was not possible. I will say however that the lightness of the reel and the small size mean that everything is at hand and control of the rod can be maintained whilst drag lever operations can be controlled with easy movements of the thumb. I am not used to lever drag multipliers and I found this reel to be the easiest multiplier to use that I have ever experienced.

Fishing a flying collar rig, 1lb of lead and a jelly shad in 300 feet of water in a 3 knot tide had me struggling to retrieve with a right hand wind Shimano TLD25 last time out. The tiny Avet left hand wind had the shad and lead practically leaping out of the water after what felt like half the effort. I put this down to the ergonomics and excellent engineering of the reel.

More at the end of next month hopefuly when I battle giant cod in the murky waters of the Bristol Channel

Good luck with your upcoming trip n4lly, I don't think you're a tackle tart, I think there's a difference between people that buy tackle for the name and people that buy good tackle whatever the name :P

:D Fhoto of me bro, he's the one holding the smaller one of the two. :) Just to let you know and not a lot of people realise. He's uncommonly known as a left hooker. Does he care what side of the reel is the handle thingy, no he don't as he's too busy pulling them up. I'm off to get me fillets for me tea. :whistling:

Aint i a one Worms. :)

A nice pair!

It depends what you're used to I suppose. I'm a right hander and most of my fishing has been in freshwater. I've spent all of my fishing life holding the rod in my right hand and winding my centrepins and fixed spool reels with my left. It's natural for me to want to wind with my left and use my stronger arm to pump the fish but.........horses for courses etc. :)

I do have what are possibly the only left hand wind Mitchell 600 and 624s in existence though :P

Darn it, the SX5.3MC not in stock, my order left the factory in America

this morning <_<

Having explained i'm out on sea-juicer on the 21st

Rox-max have been great with their communication.

So going to confirm the order for a Avet SX Raptor :o

The ABU 7500 c3 ct will have to go to pay for the difference ;)

:D Went to Tackle & Guns trade show yesterday and saw the NEW Daiwa multipliers. They've caught on that anglers are fishing lighter these days and have some small, Avet and TLD 5 size lever drags, single and 2 speed. Not sure of the prices but I'll check them out at their trade show next month. I'll report back, I may even get one to do a review on if I'm lucky. :D
