All the gear and no idea

Tell you what then Vagabond, you send me one of your Greeheart rods to try because I don't have several £100s or maybe several 1000 pounds to spend on Greeheart rods

Andy, I own nine greenheart rods, and old skinflint that I am, the total I paid for the entire nine rods is probably less than a tenner. That's a tenner for the LOT, not a tenner each. Its a matter of always keeping an eye open for a bargain. (and no, I do not haunt car boot sales - have never been to one)

The greenhearts range from two-handed salmon rods to a tiny seven-foot trout fly rod and a seven-foot trout spinning rod.

Included in that is an 18' Malloch with two tips, which I use occasionally, and a 17' Farlow which I haven't got round to refurbishing yet, because it would only do the same job as the Malloch. The rings are rusty and need replacing - may do it this winter.

Tell you what. When I next come up to Loch Lubnaig after charr (early next summer) I will bring the refurbished 17" Farlow - and its yours if you promise to use it from time to time and not sell it. I will even throw in a Malloch 4" brass fly reel and a # 12 fly-line. Start your weight-training now :D

Most of my rods have been refurbished so many times the original makers' logos are long gone, so to a collecter they are "valueless". Does not worry me - my rods are to fish with, which makes them priceless.

No sorry Dave I'm not having that! Come on come clean you were given them to field test when they first came out weren't you?

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Yeh, and got the push when they wouldn't sell, as the old 'uns preferred to stick to hickory, and the youngsters were all after this new-fangled split-bamboo.
