Did anyone else watch this minority BBC2 cooking program?

Lots of it was OK but the gutting of the freshwater eels was unpleasant to say the least.

Sorry if I am mistaken but the eels were alive when gutted.

Didn't see this one, but a tricky one. I've also seen this done with sushi, where the bones of a fish were still moving when the dish was served up!

Eels move when they are dead, dont worry. You can have an eel chop its head off after its dead and the body still moves. One of the mates was cooking eel segments in a pan and the sections of the eel were visibly wiggling!

Not very nice to see but part of life.

Yes, they will move after being freshly killed, but they did complement the womans skill at gutting live Eels so, as Socksy says, very unpleasant. Do those fellas 'bat for the other side' though?

Oh!!, and that awful joke regarding 'letting the headless trout have one more taste of freedom!!' poor things....Oh come on you lot, keep it in perspective......

 

Probably the most refreshing cookery style programme ive seen for ages.....a breath of fresh air!!

 

I beleive it was a one off pilot, but they've had a series commissioned on the strength of it.....

 

oo oo oo lets hope they don't hurt any more poor fishes eh?

I quite liked the programme, the only bit I disliked was the gutting of the live eels.

I have no problems about killing fish or chopping them up.

Also the European eel is in decline.
