The celotex is pretty soft stuff so i gave it plenty (6) coats of varnish to toughen it up a bit.

 

 

with styrofoam (blue insulation foam) and celotex ,you have too watch the dust when working them and like elder pith its easy too over work & danage ,but is generally the most bouyant material (and comparativley cheap),easy enough too shape and makes for a good float but not as popular as balsa .

Yes thanks for that Steve and there is a warning written on the Celotex about the dust from it. So i did put a dust mask on when spinning it in the drill and sanding it down which is probably a good idea when sanding most things. :thumbs:
