Fishing MP?

A while ago there was a post about Martin Salter MP being made responsible for fishing. I wrote him an email asking what he thought about the Lake District bait bans. He hasn't replied at all. Did anyone else write to him, and if so did they get a response?

Nice to know there's somebody actively working for fishing. Maybe we should nominate him for Steven Byers' job....

I emailed him a couple of years ago during the close season debate, and had a reply within two days. He seems to be very pro-active in all angling causes, and is also a keen barbel angler. I just hope he manages to live up to his projected image.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

Well I actually MET him on the bank on Sunday!! Taking the wife and kids for a walk along the Kennet he was fishing a stretch at Woolhampton. We talked of the fishing in general, cormarants and crayfish but I didn't get too political with him - how would you like it on your day off!!!

As I've said before he's my local MP and on the 2 or 3 occasions I've written to him (to have a whinge about local public transport usually) I've always had a prompt reply (& he got the CEO of Reading Buses to write to me).
