What flies (I imagine small fry patterns), and presentation?

Your thoughts and experiences please!

Yep, I've tried it, in Galway., went through the dry box, the wet box and the un-nameable box, then I tried bread, then I gave up!

One day I'll have a bash at them again. It's obvious that they do take food, I've seen them. I've just never seen them take anything with a hook in

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

I've had a few tries. Then I bought this DVD and found out I was doing it all wrong!

Since I've had it I've not had the time and the weather has been ban on my days off.

I will definitely be making the effort to get the fluff-chucking gear out again this year.

The DVD is by a Danish angler and he catches a LOT, so I think his methods are worth a try. It is expensive and it is in Danish with subtitles but it is worth every penny. If it doesn't get your confidence up nothing will!

Shad on the fly, now you're talking! Not legal in the UK anymore which is a shame. They fight like the very devil himself and they will test your tackle and your arms!

I've caught loads of twaite shad around here around the 1 1/2-2lb mark on light fly tackle........make sure you've got some decent backing :D

I've flyfished for Mullet in the Ebre/Ebro delta and had success with California coachman or any thing with a bit of yellow in it or a white foam breadfly. Caught nothing big though and I suspect those thinlips would have taken anything, great fun though.

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

I fish for Mullet on the south coast....Flies are as follows: Bread fly....Apps Bloodworm....Soldier Palmer....PTN....Gamarus imitations. Fished dead drift using the current....Hope this helps.

Cheers Dave

PS: Don't even bother trying untill April at the earliest....A good site to look at is Dr Mike Ladles....Top bloke and what he don't know about Mullet and Bass fishing aint worth knowing.
