3 weekends left!

So what's everyone else up to? Any end-of-season plans that need a successful conclusion?

Well was meant to be going this Sunday to a nice 'Middle Kennet Estate' but the weather forecast is looking dire for Sunday.

Next weekend's plans have been thrown awry by the television companies switching Reading's FA cup ¼ final to Sunday - has freed up Saturday - but no plans ATM - probably end up doing some perching on the canal!

Last weekend I've got 12th off and 14th both will be spent on various section of the Kennet with large chub dace and maybe even roach hopefully on the menu. Here's hoping for some half decent weather!

Yep, the weather has put a bit of a blanket on it for me as well; I was hoping to get out onto the Beult, both last weekend and this, but the river is the colour of milky coffee and is tonking through at the moment.

I was planning to do a bit of roach fishing on the upper Bristol Avon on Sunday, but have just checked the weather and it has forecast heavy snow all day with 35mph NE winds!!!! Not exactly conducive to the sedate winter roach session I was hoping for! Strangely though, temperatures are still forecast to reach 7 degrees...

So now I don’t know where to go or what to fish for... Any ideas/ inspiration would be most welcome! :)

Despite all the rain, the Thames still looks in pretty good shape - worth a punt? (No pun intended!)

I still have a load of lobs from ages ago, so I think I'm going to risk a blank and a soaking and try for a perch tomorrow afternoon. It's hard to ignore the chub, but this should at least get it out of my system!

Had an evening on the loddon resulting in a missed bite and a 7lb barbel. My first barbel on the loddon, it's such a cruel river.

A few passing anglers (out for a walk, not fishing) stopped and told me I was wasting my time, saying how nothing would feed in the river when it was so high, little did they know that conditions were perfect.
