The picture is of Neville Fickling with a double figure pike. The picture is taken from his book 'Pike fishing in the 80's'. The signature could be Cannell referring to Brain Cannell who is/was a friend of famous angling author and artist Steve Harper. Chris Turnbull should know both of them as he lives in the same area.

ooohhh thanks (rubbing hands in glee) a famous (or infamous) angler on my wall ,i shall sell it and retire to bognor regis :)

Page 135 to be exact! Right about the hat & the reel. I have only ever read as far as page 134 before falling asleep otherwise would probably have recognised it
