anyone heard of a fishing artist called either "camell" or "carrell" i bought a picture with this name,it is a modern scene (the angler is netting a fish with a 36" ish net) any ideas?

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

 

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

sorry mate its on the lowest settin on the camera ,if you like you can print it out and have a picture for your wall :P

Hi Chesters, no real clues on this one I'm afraid.

 

Expensive wash line mount. Looks like a pike in the net. Mitchell reel and long cork handle? Once fashionable style of hat, 1970 ish perhaps? Barbour jacket perhaps? All guess work. The signature could be 'Carisell' or 'Canisell', neither of which I have ever heard of! I would suggest that it is a preliminary brush & wash style of sketch. Possibly the forerunner of another picture. As a sketch though, I wouldn't expect it to be much more than 12 or 14 inches wide. Interesting in that it shows an ability to show water as being 'wet', something many artists lack the ability to do. It certainly doesn't have photographic accuracy, yet it does catch something about angling, the figure shows a good stance, maybe the artist is, or was, an angler.

Exactly my thoughts to Peter, something "real" about it. Maybe the guy is a cartoonist, he/she? has the ability to capture all the essentials in a few strokes of the pen.

I may well download and print it out to put over my desk.
