Couldn't.. There was a match on and 'no fishing allowed'. They take up the whole b*****y stretch too and I don't care to fish stillwaters.

 

Should be back from Manchester early enough tomorrow to get in most of a day though.

Started fishing about 8.00.

Drizzle, overcast, grey.

River had been in flood, now down to a reasonable level.

 

perch had been very busy on the light/shade line under a railway bridge.

 

Plunge pool after a weir was the best, small chub, rudd/roach crosses. Loadsa bites, all small stuff.

 

Small hooks, over shotted, small floats needed. Otherwise no show (I started on a 3bb chubber, ended up on a 1bb quill)

 

Fish went dead about 10.15

I flung out a few lures incase pike/perch had moved in.. no sign.

15.30 - 19.00 I'd still be there now but some wuss phoned me to go for a pint cos he was packing up.

 

One barbel of 11.2 at about 17.15.
