Well done Dave and as Errrm ask's what's next. It must be very difficult to find UK species you have never had before.

Well done Dave - what's your world wide total now at?

 

As of today,

 

English total 93

UK total 103

World total 422

 

BTW Norma's world total is 195 and as that includes 28 fish I haven't caught, our combined husband-and-wife total is 450.

 

We are looking at a Madagascar trip - where ALL the freshwater fish will be "new" to us.

 

I'll get me anorak :)

Do you concentrate on one target at a time or multiple? Any idea what your next targets are going to be?

 

When I am fishing in strange places for my world list I tend to start with some sort of "catch anything" rig like baited feathers to get a number of new local species quickly.

 

Having done that, I then go for a more specialised approach for individual species.

 

In the UK, chances of multiple targets are long gone. Each new species now requires a lot of effort - mainly in location. Sometimes I get lucky - as when Weirwulf put me onto the Sunbleak - my location was done for me at a stroke - a village pond, just a few miles from home - a pond I had not fished for 50 years!

 

Next targets - well , several seafish, but I am almost out of freshwater targets

Anyone know of the whereabouts of False Harlequin? or European Smelt ?
