I've had Garry service and repair my Allcocks Match Aerial. I can vouch for his work. He diagnosed a bent spindle (which he replaced with a new one he machined) - and also replaced the (weak) ratchet spring and pawl so that a) the ratchet is a lot stronger, and it is now set up to wind left handed. He also sent me some of his 'pin oil. All for £40. Expensive??? Cheap at the price if you ask me - my reel is now ready for another 30 years of service or more.

And he's a damned nice guy aswell.

 

I don't know if Garry deals with any reels other than Allcocks/Youngs, but if not, Chris Lythe also offers a repair service for 'pins.
