There some fantastic looking birds in that list I will have to get on the American mainland sometime in the near future.

I once had a Laughing Kookaburra nick a piece of toasted asparagus-and-bacon sandwich.

Ordered two rounds, which came cut into quarters, smelling delicious.

Had a large glass of Fosters with them. Ate at an outside table.

The kooka sat in a nearby tree and watched.

Ate seven of the eight quarter-rounds without incident, took a bite out of the eighth, put it back on the plate.

Took a swig of Fosters - had to tilt the glass as that too was nearly fiinished.

In the split second that the glass blocked my line-of-sight to the sandwich, the kooka swooped, grabbed, and was gone!

Norma, getting outside the last of two rounds of her bacon-and-tomato - almost choked at my expression.

BTW This cafe is our first port of call whenever we fly into Brisbane from the UK. Land early morning, hire a car, drive up to Mt Glorious for a couple of hours watching high rainforest birds. Take breakfast at the summit cafe, which does a mean range of toasted sandwiches, and then drive down the other side of the range past Somerset Dam and on to sister-in-law's place, to crash out and beat the jet-lag. The cafe is highly recommended.

WOW Dave,an awesome list !!!!!! Talking of Kookaburras did manage to hand feed one in the wild when we were in Australia. Funny thing was it was standing on a bird identification plaque that had a picture of a kookaburra on it
