I know that this shop does some:

Other than that it is likely to be e-bay or the large angling auctions or possibly someone might have a reel for you to acquire if its just to replace a damaged ring on a loved rod. Most use the American Gudebrod or some import these days

I believe they ceased trading a few years ago might be over 5 years now...so hoard your thread if you use old rods.

Here is a "local" company that Ive used before that supplies rod building materials. Not Talbot Im afraid (I to haven't seen their thread for some time but Ive got quite a supply of it so if he cant source some let me know what colour/size and I will see if I have it)

Really?

The closed their factory and laid of the workforce back in August.

They were looking for new finance and hoped to reopen, but whether they got any or not I don't know.

I tried to buy some thread from Guides and Blanks a while ago but they were short of stock and were trying to flog me Fishhawk which I have never really liked. Tends to be fuzzy.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

That's a great shame Dave.Like wise Ive never been to keen on Fish hawk. Im lucky to still have quite a bit left and as the bulk of rods Ive built for some time are in black it should last me out (Ive monster monster bulk spools of black Gudebrod!) Other than refurbing old rods I only seem to get asked to use my coloured threads for tippings these days.
