Perch on lamprey?

Nearer to the day, Steve will post that he is accepting reservations and give an email address. You just send him a post saying that you want to attend. More details are in his Wingham topic. He gives the dates and some general information early since many people need the advance notice to schedule the time off work.

He gives preference to people who've not attended a fish-in there and then fills the rest with people back for a return trip. It was the first place in England my wife or I had ever fished (and first time meeting so many people I 'knew' from these forums and we loved it.

Thanks a lot Newt, I did actually apply to join the Wingham Syndicate a year or so ago, but the list is really long and don't expect to hear anything for a couple of years at least, so it would be great to get to fish it before my time is due... Hopefully I may see you there.

Many thanks

Neil

Hi all,

Well, Kevin and I got to Charlie's at 7.15am, after a quick sortie, decided to fish either side of large, tree with a good deal of growth underwater, Steve was right with regards to the weather, very bright, not a cloud all day!! The sun climbed quickly after Kev had the first Perch of the day on a small roach, of about 1lb 6oz, then his worm rod went screaming off with a lovely roach which went just under the pound mark.

Despite the worst possible conditions for Perch possible, we went on to catch loads of perch between 1lb - 1lb 8oz, 8 over 2lb and the largest went 3lb 5oz, hardly any came from marginal cover (I think Kev and I were the only ones fishing "in" a sunken tree!) the rest all came from very open water averaging 4feet deep!!

After dusk, the only fish to grace the nets were ROACH!! :o

I will endeavour to post the photo's as soon as they are sent to me

Well done, indeed! An excellent result in far from good conditions. :clap2:
