most unusual bait

Recommended Posts

I once caught an eel deliberately on floating crust, after seeing it coming up through a hole in the weeds to scavenge for leftovers after someone had fed the ducks.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

Norm!,

Thats the most unusual bait I`ve heard of catching a eel,

I`ve tried a few "Strange" baits for eels but that is defo differant,

Did you have just the one eel?

Could this be a new wonder bait?

My most un usual bait used would probably be dead baby rats, from the local snake shop,

i only had the one i was so shocked to catch anything in the first place.

did you catch any thing on the rats?

a big bunch of red wool ,jigging for eels and bare hook for a shoal of small roach in a feeding frenzy.

In Zimbabwe I used live frogs to catch barbel (sharp tooth catfish). The worst part was definitely putting them on the hook :( Cracking bait though.

Rabbit droppings for Chub and Carp just like Cats and Dog pellets and cost you nought, a good Northern bait for Tough Northern Anglers ??

This is fact not fiction they do work.

Fresh ones have a nice shine can be hooked or banded. The old one make a good popup. Again take a rum spray with you.
