catfish havent got feet but those mouth whips sure look fun

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

Peter was asking how a somewhat lunatic group wound up being spoken of in this thread and I pulled that in to answer him.

 

As to a 7ft Wels - they do grow that large and larger. But not usually in the UK I didn't think due to cool waters.

 

And in the US, stories abound of giant fish (usually catfish) being seen by divers at many of the larger dams here. Some may even be true.

Yet another way of attracting paying visitors???

 

On the news today is a story of a '3 feet terrapin' attacking grebes on their nests on some 'nature reserve' somewhere. The report said it had probably been flushed down a loo after outgrowing it's tank. Apparantly the local great-crested newts are in danger of being wiped out.

These conservationists will do and say anything for extra visitors.

we did have a couple of terrapins at the lea but the didnt eat grebes as far as i know ,did they lyn :D
