I have all the kit I need old and new probly over £3000 pounds worth and my own fishery. So whats wrong with collecting a bit of old nostalgia???

 

You also get a lot of tips that people have forgotten about.

 

I will come and fish some of your £8.00 matches and see if any advice learned from the old ways helps.

I believe I'm right in saying that the first 'The Angling Times Book' came out in 1955.

 

Hereford Angler, you need to know where you have come from before you know where you are going! So says wise old Broadland sage.

 

That plus there was a lot more about fishing in those days & a lot less about plugging a sponsors latest must have tackle that you can easily do without!!

ok i take it back. Maybe there is some good in those old annuals. I learnt a lot of what i know from my dads old john wilson book. But i do love all these new fangled gadgets!

The AnglingTimes Year book above was First published in '77. The ones you are thinking of must be a differant set.But I will stand corrected if I'm wrong.

talking about j.w books i have 2, 1 is go fishing with john wilson (its cover is green )ignore dust cover the strange thing is that on page after 134 it starts again at the title page,the other is called go fishing with john wilson its cover is blue ,the strange thing is inside the second one its titled john wilson go fishing year? is this the same with yours?

I have 2 J.W. books but they are Catch Pike and Catch Chub, they both seem ok but I have Sussesful Carp Fishing by Julian Cundiff which has the hard back cover on upside down.

How strange.
