In the (very) unlikely event of my lovely bride coming up with that suggestion, I have my answer ready...

 

The Good Lord, when He created the Earth, made five times as much open water as He did land.

 

Therefore He intended man to spend five times as much time in fishing as in gardening.

 

Besides which, it only takes me a couple of days to fill the freezer with rainbow trout, as compared to a whole year to fill it with celery.

Well drats - my sinuses and ears are so plugged up I can't hear a thing.

 

Must be all the polution here in town.

 

I know - a day on the water where the air is better will set me right so I'll be off now.
