Christmas

Do you hope/ask for any angling related products for Christmas? If so, what?

I must admit, the influx of 'gifts for anglers' into department stores does make me cringe. I've received all sorts of well-intentioned over-priced tat over the years....but that's Christmas, I suppose :D

I need a new brolly, when I told my Dad about mine disappearing down the river Stour he asked if I would like a new one Christmas :) Then I remembered my stepmother is making me a rug :( It's a really nice rug though

I don't have anyone else that I could ask so I will have to start saving.

Seasons greetings Chesters......!!

I suggested to my Out-Laws (via a prompt to the strife) a couple of years ago that if they were stuck for a present to give to their wayward son-in-law a magazine subscription would be good....easy and we're all happy.

My mum lives in Australia and I often ask her to send me lures. Not only are they quite different from some of the ones that you see in the shops here anyway, but having someone else buy lures for you is not a bad idea, as they tend to buy ones that you, yourself, wouldn't necessarily choose. Therefore, you end up with a good mix in your tacklebox.

Tight lines,

Elton, I got so fed up with the comercialisation of Christmas that I booked 15 days in Egypt (again). So it looks like I will get the same as last year, a great sun tan :P

Did you give any thought to having a new section just for the Christmas messages from members? Last year it got a bit messy with all the greetings on the different forums? Just an idea.

My wife and son are under strict instructions.

NEVER buy me any fishing stuff for christmas.

I know exactly what I want, and they don't. That equation is set in stone.

She did me proud last year though. She bought me a Thinsulate hat and gloves. November 1st. is when my moonboots and now Thinsulate hat comes out. I love it. Beats the woolly hat any day.

Eeeeeeeeee older I get the better I was.

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow - creature, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
