Does anyone here use or own a Fox Specialist 1LB Tc rod? Ive been using mine for a few months on the local chub and roach and love it.

Im considering chasing a few of the barble that lurk in the local rivers but was wondering if it was up to the job.

Just wondering.

depends on the swims you intend to fish really, in a fast snaggy river with a decent fish on, a 1lb rod might be struggling to control the fish. i use a 1.5lb drennan super specialist and its just the job

I agree with Jeepster but if it a bigger size of a river, I would go up to 1.75 T.C. Drennan Super Specialist :):)

a little off the subject but i have been offered a Fox specialist barbel 1.5 TC rod with the quiver top section for US$50.00.(other top section has got broken)was wondering if it would be a goo deal as the rod was never used just has one of the top pieces broken but the other is fine. its a 12ft. rod. with the quiver tip top section rated at 3oz.seen similar rods in uk catalogs complete for £99 to £150 .so is it a good deal even with only the one top section? thanks.

think I may go ahead and get it. for light fishing for cats and bluegills anything small and under 10lbs in weight.yeah £30 is about $50.first rod over 11ft i will have got.can float with it as well. Our fish are more agressive feaders so no real need for fine finesse floating most of the time. But still unsure an it yet.
