TV BATTERY PACKS

Does anybody know where I can get a decent battery pack or equivalent so that I can run my mini-TV on the bank whilst night fishing. Batteries last on average 1 hour. I bought one from Badger for £40 which was described as being able to run anything off it but when it came you could only jump start a car off it or plug a cigarette lighter fitting into it. Any ideas?

it depends on the voltage ,mine runs on mains ,int batteries or 12v ,if yours has 12v input you can fabricate a lead using a lighter plug (to fit in the lighter socket on the pack) and a suitable plug for the back of the telly ,i dont have to tell you to make sure the polarities are correct before plugging in

if no 12v in is on the telly see how many batteries it uses if its 8 (as mine is ) its twelve volts so a direct conection can be made to the battery terminals ,if its less a converter (car lighter plug fitting )can be bought that allows voltages less than 12v to be used ,a suitable lead could be fashioned to connect the two together ,even then the telly uses lots of power and the battery power is shortlived

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

For a 12v TV I can recommend a completely sealed accumulator used for domestic security systems, as well as for fishfinders and for starting radio-controlled plane models. 4 to 7 Amh capacity may be enouph. There are also small 12v acc.batteries for motorcycles. And if the car is close, why not use a cable connected to the cigarette lighter socket?

Best wishes,

A T.V. whilst fishing?? :D Suppose Passion for Angling was on .

Actually, joking apart. I have a shed by the river that we stay in. I run the whole thing off a large lorry battery, T.V., radio and lights. Three or four days off one battery.

Mikey, I assume you use a transporter/barrow to shift your gear, so why not pop down to Halfords and buy a car battery for about £20, and a couple of crocodile clips as well. In my carping days I used one and it lasted a week or more.

Also hitch it up to a halogen lamp for catfish trips....like Blackpool :D:D
