Anyone run a fishing shop?

no :( but if anyone one does have they any intrepid related gumph lying in the cellar could i have a look :cool:

Thanks Rob Basicly i'm looking into setting up a Tackle shop near where i live as there ain't any!

They hold the the Nationals near me and near where they hold must of them is a nice shop just about to go up for let. So should do quite bit of busy.Plus there are quite a few lake ponds etc.

What i'm trying to find out is what the profit margins are on kit and baits etc.

I work in a large tackle shop, and although I know the answers to your questions, I don't think you'll get a detailed answer from anyone in the trade. Margins etc are, after all, a somewhat sensitive commercial area.

 

Your best bet is to talk (face to face) to either someone in a shop you use yourself, or perhaps contact one of the tackle wholesalers who you could be looking to buy from. They might give you that kind of information.
