I agree. I was feeling flush the other day and bought TWO new fuel filters for mine:

blimey that is flush i got 10 for £8 i did look at the sellers page but he doesnt stock them anymore ,he had put make an offer in his advert so i offered to buy 10 if he charged for 8 free post as well

i used to use bigger ones but noticed they didnt fill completely with petrol so silted up on the bottom half only ,these small ones are fine and i keep a few in the boot for when the old ones turns brown ,none of this sucked flat episodes any more

I actually got two of the bigger ones first, and one is on there now. I've noticed that it doesn't fill up entirely, but it looked too clean to bin, so I'll just keep an eye on it. Waste not, want not

i think its having mechanical fuel pumps they suck but only a little faster than whats needed by the engine at the speed its running so the filter never gets full unless its a small one.

with a big filter theres enough air in it to let the petrol in the pipe sink back down the pipe so it needs to suck that air back up before the petrol arrives

Mine's an electric pump. That said, I've never checked when the car's running. As it has no choke, I tend to stay in the driver's seat. Next time I get home and it's ticking over, I'll take a look at the filter.

electric blimey thats some sort of supercar isnt it

its strange being electric i presume it pushes rather than pulls so the filter should be full as the air will be pushed out first ,maybe its an electric sucker?

mind you if its down the tank end its pushing if its by the engine its sucking but the same pump could be used i 'spose if its self priming

if the filters between the engine and pump it will be different than between the pump and tank ,heck this car stuff is fun

i think the filter would be easier up by the bonnet to see at least it looks dark where it is

hopefully the pumps not just hanging there

It was only dark because I left the cover on the car. Lot less hassle where it is, as I have to remove the whole bonnet to get at it otherwise
