halsneed park, whiston

Halsnead entrance is by the garden center, you can't miss it, it's a pokey pot holed road in between the playing field and mentioned Garden Center.

Follow it around the bend and keep on going through the caravan park.

Watch out for the speed humps, they are huge just like the pot holes and head for the road/street that sounds like it looks over a lake( Can't remember what it is called but it is something watery!!!).

Park up and fish.

Enquire in the pet shop next to the Post Office about tickets or whatever and Wally will sort you out!

Give it a miss mate - it's a dump now. It's a shame because it used to be such a good water but it's now just a nightmare. It's notorious for tackle theft and you need eyes in the back of your head, if you're after a relaxing days fishing it's not the place for you. If you're feeling masochistic you can now get day tickets on the bank - if you don't mind the stolen cars, stereos, fires and swimmers disturbing your day.

You'd be better joining Pilkingtons who have some equally good waters in the area but are well maintained and secure. Contact Star Angling in St. Helens for details.
