Archie Braddock's Perch Magic liquid. If I couldn't get that I'd settle for Rod Hutchinson's Savoury Sense Appeal.

 

Both are great perch (and roach) attractors. Indeed, in each case I've had perch, which hate resistance, pull the rod tip right round and nearly drag the rod in!

I have played around with flavourings for a few years and always banked on the blue cheese additive. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago, whilst on business and several bottles of wine, we got to ordering the food in a restaurant . .

 

make mine a sirlion served with a blue stilton dressing (as per menu)

 

jeeeezussss . . . you could smell it coming out of the kitchen long before seeing it. And the taste . . almighty who said fish aren't stupid. After about 5 mins everything seemed to be coated in it, glasses, table cloth, shirt . ..

 

yuck !!!

Robin Red has been catching carp for over 40 years, used as an additive it has probably helped account for more carp than any other "flavour"

 

Not counting the commercial fisheries of course.

 

For most of us oldtimers it is an essential ingredient of any mix.

 

Turns everything red!!

 

On many waters the effects can be seen in the colour of the fish, they turn red! A couple of difficult waters that I fished were being baited with boilies containing "the red" and even though no one was catching we could see the effect on the fish when they leapt out of the water. Gave us all the will to carry on trying

Who's got the highly toned body Bruno, you or the wife? My Mrs used to have a highly toned body until she started on the Barley wine. I wouldn't reccomend that stuff to anyone.

I'm stalled of reading about this Robin Red. Not having tried it yet, I'm in the dark.

I can't take in the fishmeal revolution yet. I'm still learning just how effective the stuff is!
