What is the current world record carp?

Naaaa Nugg. Just always interested in getting details on some of the very interesting rigs and methods you folks use.

 

For instance, when I was fairly new to UK angling boards, I read someone talking about using a stringer. And thought to myself, "well, some normal anglers around at least". Turned out a stringer (UK) isn't quite the same as a stringer (US) for angling.

 

And then later I read about someone catching a 7 lb bream (or some such size) and really wondered because the current world's record for US bream (generic term for about a dozen different sunfish species - including bluegill) is around 3 lbs.

 

No way would I try to twist words or generally create a comotion. Nope. Not me. Never. Not.

The above picture of the 240lb carp is NOT the same king carp species that we have in europe.

It is the large Siamese Giant Carp or Catlocarpio Siamensis.

NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE KING CARP RECORD. [As it has been above]

As you can see, there is a massive different between these fish.

 

As far as I know, anyone who caught a very large carp without using a hair last holds the record. Could be anyone.

I'm surprised he didn't offer your some glugged hookers, although they can bring you out in dayglo orange, pop-up boilies unless you're careful.
