Rod rest's for rod pod ?

Hi, after a great day's fishing yesturday i'm left with a problem.

Everytime a got a run on my rod the fish would pull my rod forward. I made sure my baitrunner wasn't under too much tension but it still pulled the rod along the pod.

Can you buy rod rest that screws into the rod pod that will grip the rod and stop it from sliding forward ?

Thanks Dave.

Yes there are serveral rod rest on the market to stop the rod going forward even fishing from a rod pod.

Either go for the Fox Duo grip rod rest at £4.99 (which i use and never have a problem with them) or the Fox Rod Lok at £7.99 or if you want to go even cheaper the John Roberts butt grip at £2.99

Growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional

Also, if you can, try to make sure that the alarm or front rod rest is infront of the first rod ring. That way, if your rod is pulled forwards, the alarm or rod rest head helps to prevent it from being pulled too far in.

They are adjustable so, you can alter to match the style of fishing you are undertaking, love these so much.

i just have some flexi grippers that ive had for years and cost about a quid each. Also, i always make sure the first ring is past the alarm. You shouldnt use it as a means of stopping the rod moving not even as a failsafe it will just bend or worse break off if a large carp takes it!

I very much doubt that!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

i paid extra for 50mm butt rings and would never even risk it! :P

Ive got some older rods, i may test this theory haha

 Honest Sean if they bend or get torn off then no matter what you've paid you've been ripped off mate! In reality though the situation of a carp pulling away for any length of time simply shouldn't happen.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
