John Wilson is one of the best-known and most popular anglers in the country. for over 30 years he has both directed and presented the Go Fishing programme for his local TV station Anglia.

 

Over the years these have been produced both on tape and DVD and for anyone wanting to take up the sport or just improve their techniques then these are the ones to watch.

 

Wilson is very passionate about his sport and the protection of our fish stocks from predators.

 

He is the leading light of the newly-formed Predator Action Group, whose aims are to control predators such as otters and cormorants which are decimating our valuable fish stocks.

 

Such is Wilson’s popularity and influence, he was recently invited by the BBC Look East programme to discuss his feelings and to call for an immediate stop to all predators being released into the wild.

 

The main point of his argument was that fishery owners should have the same rights in law that farmers have for there is a Farmers Rights law which means that if a dog is worrying sheep or a fox is killing livestock then they can be shot on sight with no recriminations whatsoever.

 

The problem, though, is that the Angling Trust should be backing him 100 per cent. the evidence has been there for many years now and it is getting worse.

 

In the interview, Wilson pulled no punches and spoke of how the public perceive the otter as a cuddly creature whereas, in reality, it is most definitely not.

 

He went on to say that fish were the only animal class in the UK not protected by law and it is time that this was changed.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Yeah John, Rights for Fish they need protecting.

 

How does sticking hooks in them effect there rights :unsure:

 

I rather like Mr Wilson but think he is way off on this one.

John Wilson is an ignorant, uneducated fool. He still thinks that predators are being released and is stupid enough to believe that they will eat all of the fish.

 

Oh well,let's hope that his mind-bogglingly laughable views show him up to be the pillock that he obviously is on national TV!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I thought I was remarkably restrained when I penned the above....my feelings are significantly stronger than that!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!
