..........In short term we will face any difficulty putting into force special measures for small scale fisheries and coastal areas.

We can use our funds to ensure better prices and profits for the fish we catch, to persuade our citizens to consume all kinds of fish, to introduce concrete labeling for fresh fish all over Europe, to enhance a lot of complementary activities – both for vessels and coastal families – for spawning periods and areas, when the vessels have to stay ashore.

Is there any evidence of commercial operations affecting spawning areas, i have examples of restriction proposed where there is evidence contary, kingmere is a classic example of the do gooders baying for restriction yet a full survey by the sfc states otherwise. Is this just another e u dictat with no thought of the social and economic impact. Is this going to be another on paper reason why additional areas are to be closed and controlled.

Could this even be a follow on from when the likes of bass told us that the 'o' class had been wiped out, didn't hear anything following that disaster or is every thing alright on that score now?

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Hi Paul. I have often read your posts on here about this slaughter and have made a few enquires of my own over the last 6 months. An MMO spokesman said to me via e-mail, that the said fishery was shut down last year at the request of commercial fishermen and after evidence was gained by MMO personnel actually going on one of the Whitby trawlers and the skipper showing them the sort of fishery that there was at herring spawning time and from this the area was closed. Would imagine that the same thing will happen again this year. Has there been plenty of cod taken off the grounds this year by anglers? Looking at satellite AIS images there are a lot of local trawlers guarding a pipe line from the tees. Has this work affected anglers?

Yes buddy i would say yes the what trawlers left out of whitby were doing the standby work and

i think it was desperatly needed in most cases it has given boats quota to spare with the less effort during this period it looks as if it has made a big difference in what angling boats have caught ,you are right it was closed down last year but not till after it had been fished heavily i just dont understand the mentality of killing so many small fish when conservation is supposed to be top on the agenda it will benefit all if this practice stopped but it has been going on for years 15 years ago it was slaughter on an unbeleivable scale i know all have to make a living but in this day of age and defra want to know what anglers catch in real terms not a lot in the scale of things.

Thanks for that Paul. Well at least the MMO are telling the truth then when you ask them. Must say that it was a step in the right direction if the trawler men themselves are wanting it shut down. Could be a big temptation for them this year if they have all got a bit of quota to use up with them finding alternative work.

The standby work looks like going into the new year but i know one or two who will be itching to get at it once the herring spawn there is one thing for sure you would see a much better fisherie next year if it was left alone but i some dought that will happen.
