State of the river

I have had the luck to fish a couple of my local rivers in the last couple of days.

I just wish I could find out what they are like before I went.

So here goes for anybody out there.

R Gipping upper and middle sections V Low and VVVV weedy

R Stour (suffolk) upper and middle sections low but weed was not a problem

R Little Ouse middle section Low, steady flow and weed wwas present but not a problem.

Out of my area but also visited

R Irthing {Cum} middle section V Low but V clear

OK now over to the rest of you

Gipping Report

Behind football ground in Stowmarket forget it it is stagnant

Needham reed growth is prolific and the flow is minimal

Barham Lock section Reed growth on margin but there is a slight flow in the central channel

Sharmford Lock all weed, lillies, duckweed, there is only a flow into and out of this section

Blakenham lock section reeds are ok but duckweed from section above is mounting up. There is a slow flow through the middle of this section.

The Ouse is very, very low at the moment but it is fishing quite well.

I was talking to a mate that fishes the Gipping just outside Ipswich and he was bemoaning the same as you but he was still bagging up on the bream.

Cheers

Andy
