Those are fair comments Boldbear.Just one BUT though...............I can still get any spare needed for a Mitchell 300 same cant be said for Shimano.......even quite new ones.

Another couple of big plus's we found with the Mitchells was that the spools came in 3 different sizes; shallow, semi-shallow and deep plus you could put the same spools on all of the different models within reason. plus the line lay was excellent on most of the Mitchell reels.

 

Some people (I think Richard Walker was one, but don't quote me on that) said that the bale-arm rotated in the wrong direction but that didn't bother us in the least, we didn't have any problems at all; bar the ones I have already mentioned.
