Using lap top as extra PC screen

I have a requirement for an extra PC screen but don't want to buy another monitor.

I have a dead Sony laptop that won't fire up but is there anyway that I can plug it into my PC so that I can use the screen?

no; it would work the other way round..screen plugged into laptop..but you cant plug the laptop in as an extra screen to another pc.

leastways ive never seen it done or even heard of it being done.

if the laptop wasnt dead you could use wireless screen mirror software to clone the screen off one pc to the laptop but with the laptop being dead you wont be able to do that.

for the cost of a small 15" screen these days surely you can budget one in?

Thanks for that, I'm not surprised.

I just want it for one specific job and it will probably never get used again. The problem isn't buying it, it's the postage to France and postage within France is just as high.

Dave, can I help you out?? Fancy swapping a DEAD Sony Laptop for a 15" LCD monitor?? It would 99% be an LG?? But up to you I could do with at least meeting you perhaps and this sounds like a good way?? You can always say B OFF. I have a thick skin!! Just my back is a bit sore!
