i too hate lorry drivers that think that they can overtake another (unless their having a chat that is)

and carry on mile after mile side by side ,another hate is lorries that as soon as they reach a downhill bit think its their right to sit on your bumper ,i generally start to slow down very slowly letting them go through the gears abit then pull away :D

and ofcourse middle lane drivers of any vehicle

one word Caravans

Do they all think we have nothing better to do than sit behind them as they crawl up Loch Lomondside with a convoy of 30 cars behind them???

Another one is idiots that dont know how to drive on a single track road

mind you the latter wont be so bad after tommorrow when I get my Ford Maverick 4x4 that should get a bit more respect on the road than the wee Escort :D

just a few points here

1.Alan Fawcett is 100% right in that goods vehicles over 7.5 tons aren't allowed in the right hand lane of a 3 lane motorway unless instructed to do so by a police officer. You seem to know a bit about driving hours regs, also.

2. Mally, give the trucker a break mate he's earning his living you're going fishing :D

3. Chesters the reason that he's sitting on your bumper in the first place is 'coz you're going to slow& are getting in the way :D I bet when you were a kid you used to say to the other kids " it's my ball,so I'm captain and get first choice of who's on my team" :D:D:D

too slow ,if there sitting there at 70 THEIR going to fast :D soon as they get to a hill they fall back ,go down hill then you look in the mirror their back so if youve kept up a steady 70 what speed have they gone to catch you? the worst offenders are those large red lorries from brussels? ,i was cursing a caravan on the A35 yesterday ,how he saw behind him i have no idea ,the curtain on the back window was closed and he didnt have extended wing mirrors ,but it was misguided on a sharp bend infront of him was the flatcap and blue slacks man (elderly) totally oblivious to the que behind him ,he was going between 35 and 45 and even slowed down on the hills and he used his brakes on the corners ,the caravan couldnt overtake him because of approaching traffic

this old codger held us up from the frightening highcliff turnoff untill the motorway

Yeh with ya there Dave.

It would be an education for most of these motorist to have a day out with a trucker. Then we'd see just how many drive the same way after, as they did before, the point they seem to be missing is that truckers are car drivers, before they become a trucker. and we have medicals, how many of them can honestly say they have had a thorough medical checkup, in the last twenty years let alone five, thats if they ever have had one. as for you Chesters you are admiiting to dangerous driving, cos thats the legal term for it, so your no better. The fact that trucks are somtimes slow passing another is that they are fitted with limiters 56 mph in most cases so if they all followed one that could only do 55mph you probably wouldn't get on a M/way for the convoy. then what would you all be moaning about. remember it takes a truck longer than a car to reach any normal speed' so have a little patience and consideration in future. COS IT MIGHT BE ME>

Hiya,

I had a great day out with a trucker a few years ago... no it wasn't that type of day out.

I had to get the "Catchalot" moved from Loch Lomond to Oban by lowloader and I spent the trip in the cab along with the driver. We had a police escort all the way but even with that the antics of some of the motorists was beyond beleif

sorry nugg if anything hits me from behind its their fault and also tailgating is not only dangerouse its stupid i can stop my car faster than a truck so what chance has a trucker stuck up my arse :D and i have been a trucker in the past driving a mixer so i do know its mostly the foreigh trucks the british ones as you say are a small problem and if two trucks can only reach 56 mph why do they TRY to overtake?

and why didnt the auto cencor thing NOT see that rude word?

Colin Brett:

Keep their foot on the brakes when stationary.

Colin in an automatic, you do not have much choice. Otherwise vehicle goes forward.

Always Using the hand brake is a bit of a pain on Roundabouts etc , also if you are holding the main brakes, You can move forward if the idiot behind looks like he'll clip you .

Things I hate= NOVA DRIVERS, and Idiots who think Driving with a Baseball cap on , make them instant Formula one drivers.

Nova drivers are a big pain here in Luton (maybe cause Vauxhall was based here I don't know).
