Ohh heck! I read that too. I just didn't pay attention. I believe the earliest you have to have a rod license for a "stick and string" is as a 12 yr old. The EA is pretty clear. "Rod with line". Can't see how they could have made it clearer. Rod and line. Nothing technical about that?

In most states in the US you had better not try to get around the "spirit of the law" either. I've seen some mighty fine pick-up trucks and boats confiscated because some jerk handed an illegal rod to his kid (who doesn't need a license). It's better to fess up your error than to try to fool the authorities. That just pi$$es them off.
