I remember seeing The Who waaaay back. Won't Get Fooled Again became my favourite song for a while after that gig. Behind Blue Eyes was another classic I remember from that night. Awesome.

Hmmm......some of my favourites being mentioned here. Skynyrd were superb in their day, away from the more well known songs, try Tuesdays Gone, Gimmee Three Steps, or That Smell. The sequel to them I think was the Ronnie Van Zant band, not bad.

 

You've forgotten to mention, AC/DC (when Bon Scott was alive), Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Uriah Heep? And the glam rock bands, Sweet and Slade could do some pretty good, heavy stuff when they wanted.
